HIGHLIGHTS:

Kitty's Gorge, Serpentine NP | 16 km return | Difficulty: Orange ( See understanding the grades below) | Time: allow 4 hours

A long distance but relatively steady and even trail. Pack a picnic and let's enjoy a nice 16km walk along the pipeline, and running water, through the heart of the Serpentine National Park. Stop at the half way mark in Jarrahdale for a picnic break and to rest your legs, before heading back. Be ready for a steep incline including steps at the start of the trail, and then the descent on the way back at the end. Feel free to stay around at the end for a swim in the rock pool!

INCLUDED IN YOUR TICKET:

Your ticket includes a start to finish guided hike with our trained hike leaders. Hike leaders carry communication devices and first aid kits for your safety. Feel comfortable knowing that we will guide you through your hiking experience and you can relax and enjoy. Your ticket also covers licences and registration fees to hold group hike events in National Parks in WA. Please note a 10% ticket fee charged by Eventbrite to all ticket sales.

MEETING POINT AND GETTING THERE:

We will be meeting at Serpentine National park Carpark, which is aproximately 50 minutes south east of Perth. Head down South Western Highway and make your way to the end of Falls Road, Serpentine. There are park Entry fees per vehicle at the entrance to the national Park.

TRAIL DIFFICULTY:

Bush Walk: Moderate fitness recommended, but a great opportunity to experience a long distance hike on a relatively even trail.

WHAT TO WEAR & BRING:

  • Bring plenty of water ( at least 3 litres per person)

  • A picnic lunch or snacks to enjoy at the halfway point. We recommend muesli bars, fruit, trail mix, or a sandwhich.

  • Comfortable clothes and sturdy trainers or hiking boots. With the uneven gravel trail at times, good grip soles are advised.

PARK ENTRY FEES:

As this is a National Park, there is a vehicle entry fee of $13 per vehicle to enter on the day.

AMENITIES:

Toilets available.

PETS:

Dogs are not welcome on this hike as it is a national park.

FITNESS:

A longer trail, but without many tricky hills and climbs. Great to get started on a longer trail.


UNDERSTANDING THE GRADES:

Green hikes are suitable for beginners and can be completed with a basic level of fitness. There are minimal vertical climbs, and between 1-5km in length.

Orange hikes are suitable for the moderately experienced or hikers with a reasonable fitness level. These are typically between 6-15 km with a decent vertical climb. Most hikes will be orange.

Red hikes are for experienced hikers or people with a good level of fitness. They are typically longer than 10 km and involve challenging elevation and terrain. They may also be shorted hikes with a continued steep vertical climb. such as Bluff Knoll.

REFUND POLICY:

No-shows and cancellations received within 7 days of hike event will incur a 100% cancellation fee.

Cancellations received 7-14 days prior will incur a 50% cancellation fee. Cancellations received over 14 days in advance will receive a full refund or credit towards another event. Customers can transfer their booking to a friend or family member with no penalty but must advise in writing so The Hike Collective can forward all booking information to the new attendee. No ticket resales are permitted within our social media channels.

All bookings are made via Eventbrite. If The Hike Collective cancels an event due to inclement weather your ticket will automatically be moved to the new date, or you will be eligible to transfer amounts paid to another event or receive a full refund. It is your responsibilty to contact us if you wish to receive a refund for any cancelled or postponed event, or your ticket will automatically be reschduled with the new event date.
