Kitten and Kat of the Year judging night
Sat. 19 November 2016, 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm AEDT
With the rise in popularity of Burlesque in the mainstream, Miss Kitka felt that it was important for her students to be educated about the performers of old, and what Burlesque was in its heyday. Then, irrespective of whether the performer goes on to perform neo burlesque only, they will at least have an understanding and appreciation of where Burlesque came from.
Each solo performer in Kitten of the Year is required to research, where possible contact the performer, and then pay tribute to a Burlesque performer pre circa 1965.
The winner of Kitten of the Year then becomes the public 'face' of Miss Kitka's House of Burlesque for the following twelve months, as well as given performance opportunities and teacher training.
