Kitchen Garden Workshops - Making it Normal to Avoid Food Waste
Wed. 27 September 2017, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm AEST
This is a 2 hour workshop for families - one parent with up to two children per family group. There is a limit of ten family groups per workshop, with eight workshops available over autumn & spring this year.
You will visit the Kariong Eco Garden to enjoy a guided tour of the food growing in season. Then select vegies and herbs to prepare dishes for a shared lunch on the day. Each family will be given a workspace, recipe and kitchen garden ingredients to prepare together. All food preparation equipment is provided. Food Waste Avoidance tips will be shared and participants will be asked to complete a questionnaire and take the Food Smart Challenge.
Bring own cup & plate for use at shared lunch on the day.
This project was supported by the Environmental Trust as part of the NSW EPA’s Waste Less, Recycle More initiative, funded from the waste levy.
