About this event
Kilometre Club (KM Club), is a school-based physical activity program run in multiple primary schools on the Mid North Coast (NSW).
"KM Club helps children to develop a healthy and positive attitude towards physical activity in a familiar and safe environment" (Teacher at Kendall PS)
A fun, easy and free program, which can be adapted to suit your schools needs! All it requires is a passionate teacher or parent, outdoor exercise area and most importantly, kids!
In 2019 teachers, parents and students were interviewed from four schools to explore the benefits, enablers and barriers of the program. Step counts were also measured to assess physical activity levels. This is the first evaluation of the program.
The workshop will be delivered by Teisha Schirmer (Health Promotion Officer/Researcher, MNCLHD) and Lachlan Milne (Kendall Public School Teacher).
