Kids Spoon Carving
Carving spoons is a great form of creative expression for children. A hand carved spoon can be as imaginative as you want it to be, the secret is to let the features of the wood determine the design.
This class is a great introduction for younger people who love working with their hands and want to learn to use carving tools with the right technique. Through the making the spoon, Carol will cover basic carving techniques as well as some decoration using colour and texture. All tools and materials are provided so just bring your imagination and a smile. Absolute beginners are very welcome. Program is designed to be challenging but achievable for ages from 10 - 15 years old.
Carol Russell has been a furniture maker, restorer and teacher for the last 25 years. She is passionate about carving spoons, believing they offer the perfect balance between form and function.

If you buy a ticket to this workshop you acknowlege the face that this is some risk involved if safety instructions are not followed properly. Parents are invited to stay for the first 10 minutes to hear the safety instructions.
Whilst while your child is carving their spoon, parents are welcome to stay at Vieille Branche. Make a morning of it and enjoy our licensed cafe, cheese shop and garden to wander through.
