Kids pollinator workshop
Sat. 19 November 2016, 9:00 am – 10:45 am AEDT
Did you know that the greater Sydney Region hosts more than 200 amazing native bee species, vital for the pollination of plants and ecosystem health. Learn all about your local pollinators with this perfect hands on workshop for the kids.
Join in to learn about how to attract butterflies, bees and ants into your garden and how to create a healthy ecosystem for your pollinators. The workshop will involve a number of hands on activities to identify flowers and pollinators and experiments to attract ants. It will also involve a short walk around some bush restoration areas to see local pollinators hard at work.
This dynamic workshop aims to create informed and passionate pollinator enthusiasts via an engaging presentation and hands-on learning experience. Come along and celebrate National Pollinator Week!
The workshop is suitable for kids aged 7- 12 (years 2-6) and will be hosted by pollinator experts from the University of Sydney.
We’ll also have a few plants each participating child can take home with them to get started.
Please note, a map of the exact location to meet will be sent out upon registration.
