Kids MTB High Intermediate [3hrs]: MTB Skills (~10-13 year olds)
Overview
Want to ride faster, but understand that simply "brake less, pedal more and push harder" is just asking for trouble? These school holidays join our "Race Progression" clinic and learn how to ride smarter, smoother and more effectively...leading to more fun on the bike, and ultimately riding faster than your mates (even mum and dad).
Executing a perfect mountain bike race requires a combination of technical skills, physical strength, phsychological power, and quality experience to build upon. Even if you never enter a race, riding like a racer will have a profound impact on your riding. Our 'Race Progression' sessions look at the sections of trail with the highest impact on race times, focusing on efficiency to maximise the whole weekend of riding. We gaurantee you will come out of this session a whole lot more confident on the bike.
This clinic is aimed at riders wanting to push themselves to ride longer and harder, but does not require an expert riding level. We'll work on how to maintain traction and control to achieve flow down a trail, with consideration of what choices will impact your race times. At every point each participant is able to chose how much to challenge themselves.
Participants must be able to ride down Goat Farm blue trails and up Goat Farm green trails without needing to stop or put a foot on the ground; this is not for first-time riders.
Even though we will not be riding advanced features, full face helmets are highly encouraged.
The 10-13 year old ange range is a suggestion based on the expected physical and mental capabilities of the participants. Consider the capabilities of your kids before you sign them up. Contact us if you have any queries on suitability.
Standard information:
- You MUST be present from the start of the clinic. If you miss our safety talk we are not able to have you join the group. This is for everyone's well-being, and is a requirement enforced on us that we can’t make exceptions for. We suggest arriving at least 15 minutes early to ensure you and your bike are prepared and ready to go on time.
- You will need to provide your own bike and all equipment.
- Requires 3 attendees for the event to run, or the event will be rescheduled.
