About this Event
Join us on a walk as the sun sets, and experience nature as it transitions from day to night. Discover the different sights and sounds of the bush after dark; who knows what cool new wildlife we might encounter?
Tickets are required for ALL PLACES.
Ages 4-10
PLEASE NOTE: CHILDREN MUST BE ACTIVELY SUPERVISED BY A RESPONSIBLE ADULT AT ALL TIMES.
Important changes for public safety during COVID-19 pandemic:
We have adapted this activity to ensure compliance with Queensland Chief Health Officer Public Health Directions.
- Due to restricted numbers of participants we are limiting adults to one adult per child. (For example if two children are attending, a maximum of two adults can also attend). At least one adult must be present to supervise children during the activity.
- Please do not attend if unwell with cold or flu symptoms, if you have been in a COVID-19 hotspot, overseas or been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 within the last 14 days. Please cancel your booking by calling Council on 3810 6666, or email enviroed@ipswich.qld.gov.au to free up your place to those who may be waiting.
- Council has developed a COVID safe plan for this activity that includes social distancing and cleaning/sterilisation processes. Hand sanitiser will be available. Please follow ICC Guide directions during this activity to ensure public safety.
- Mobile phone number and street address details will need to be provided upon booking. These details will be kept for 56 days for COVID-19 contact tracing purposes only.
Is this activity suitable for my children or me?
- This walk is expected to take about two hours
- The track may include rocky, loose and sloping surfaces
- Most of the walk will be at night (headlamps provided – sterilised after each use)
- This walk requires a reasonable level of fitness and good balance
Safety information
- Directions given by ICC Guides must be followed at all times
- Children are the full responsibility of a competent guardian
- Hazardous wildlife such as ticks, biting insects or snakes may be encountered
- ICC Guides hold current First Aid certification and carry a First Aid kit
- Emergency procedures are in place
What to wear
- Enclosed non-slip footwear, preferably boots (REQUIRED)
- Long pants (REQUIRED)
What you will need to bring
- Water (REQUIRED)
- Fully charged mobile phone
- Headlamp or torch (headlamps can be provided)
- Snacks
- Insect repellent
- A sense of adventure!
- Anything else you require for a 2 hour bushwalk with children
