Set yourself up for self-publishing success!

Are you interested in self-publishing an eBook and/or print book but have no idea where to start? If so, you're not alone. It's very common to feel overwhelmed by the self-publishing process but the good news is that with the right guidance and a step-by-step approach you can set yourself up for self-publishing success. In this course, you will not only learn the building blocks and the key self-publishing components, but you will be given a simple marketing-based strategy and tools to help you start building your readership today.

Unavailable to make it in person? You can also watch this workshop via online live stream! Live stream tickets are available here.

Learning Outcomes:

Through practical exercises and group discussions, you will:

  • Understand the building blocks of self-publishing including editing, formatting, cover design, distribution, and marketing
  • Learn how to apply the same building blocks to a 'Lead Magnet' that can be used to build your audience today
  • Brainstorm a Lead Magnet specific to you and your work
  • Gain knowledge about the pros and cons of going wide vs exclusive distribution
  • Learn about distributing to major eBook and print book online retailers like Amazon, KDP, Apple Books, Booktopia, and more
  • Understand the different software and resources available (paid and non-paid options)
  • Develop your own scalable self-publishing plan
  • Explore a basic marketing strategy to support your self-publishing career.

Format:

This is a hybrid workshop with a focus on sustainability; it will be live streamed simultaneously to an online audience. It is a level 2 course, suitable for intermediate writers and above.

More information on program formats and level definitions can be found here.
