Event description
Join us as Speech Pathologist, Amie Jakimyszyn teaches us how to use Key Word Sign to communicate effectively with those around us.

About this Event

This course is a basic introduction to key work signing. It is not heavy in Auslan, but it does borrow signs from Auslan. The aim of this course is to teach you how to use both speech, natural gesture and one sign to communicate what you want to the individual. It is not designed to replace speech, but rather work alongside it.

No prior experience is needed and each participant will receive a package of resources along with a certificate of completion.

A light morning and afternoon tea will be provided.

** If you have an NDIS self-managed or plan managed fund, you can pay using your NDIS funds.

*** For NSW Education Teachers, completing the Key Word Sign Basic Workshop will contribute 6 hours of QTC Registered PD addressing 1.2.2; 1.4.2; 1.6.2; 2.1.2; 2.5.2; 4.1.2. from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
