Keeping it Real: Four Creative Recovery and Resilience Forum activities provide opportunities to see, listen and learn, talk, and laugh.
About this event
You’re welcomed to join a diverse collection of artists and creatives in a celebration and exploration of resilience and recovery, and how we’ve navigated the challenges and opportunities of the last 2 years. We’re talking artist-led, practical and hands-on – this is real people, real talks, real work, real world outcomes.
Keeping It Real is a free mini-arts convention for ACT creatives where you can choose your own adventure – listen to conversations about what creative recovery means in practice, apply to pitch a project for cash, explore a multi-media exhibition of artists’ work-in-process; or just hang out, make a cup of tea and meet your new best art friends.
PROGRAM
1:00-5:00pm Showcase: explore an installation of photographs, films and other documents made by Creative Recovery and Resilience artists and producers over the last year. Guided tours by performance artists will take place at 1:00pm and 4:00pm.
2:00-4:00pm Seat at the table: Join us to hear from 40 local artists as they participate in a facilitated conversation about challenges, strategies, connections and support for their sector.
2:00-4:00pm Pitch Lab: watch 7 artists vie for $4000 in prize money in this live pitch lab facilitated by Lavanna Neal and Adam Deusien. To submit an EOI to be one of the 7 participants in the pitch lab, register your idea here.
Keeping it Real is the final event in the Creative Recovery and Resilience Forum’s 2021-2 series as part of the ACT Government’s Creative Recovery and Resilience Program.
