Understanding Dyslexia - Supporting those who process & learn differently
This session is beneficial for Educators, Support Staff and Parents. Bookings due to close on 13th March 2017 unless sold out prior.
About Kay Bosworth:
Kay has been a classroom teacher, special education and intervention coordinator, specialist literacy teacher and consultant, setting up evidence-based, explicit, rigorous whole school literacy Intervention structures for over twenty years.
Her private practice and consultancy supports individuals, families and schools to improve the reading, writing, spelling and emotional well-being for those with learning difficulties.
Her work is founded on the research-based, explicit Orton Gillingham Pedagogy through the Australian Dyslexia Association, International Dyslexia Association, Hickey Language Program and LETRS approaches.
About this session:
An overview of the current research into reading difficulties and a snapshot of what we can do to support reading, writing and spelling acquisition.
This presentation will include:

Looking at current research to understand how students with dyslexia learn to read, write and spell

How to help by using targeted activities to support all children’s literacy learning

This event is for Educators, Support Staff and Parents combined. Please note the content of this event is suitable for adults. Whilst we do not believe any content covered would be particularly distressing for children, we cannot guarantee this. At this time, we are not offering a crèche service.
