Description

If you’re a keen photographer wanting to learn how to snap your outdoor adventures – this is the experience for you! This event will take place over one day near Melbourne in a small group around the You Yangs Regional Park.

You Yangs Regional Park is famous for its wildlife, rock-climbing and mountain biking trails. The aim of the day will be to learn tips and tricks from from Australian Photojournalist and adventurer Olivia Page, who has travelled the world as an Adventure Photographer. She will take you on a trail to introduce you to outdoor photography: gear, pre and post prep, editing, packing for trips, how to capture certain images and hear her personal stories from around the world!

Photographer

Olivia's photography and words can be found in adventure magazines, geographical publications and journals in Australia and internationally. Requirements:

Anyone with a reasonable level of fitness, not required to have hiking experience. Photography experience can be beginner level but must have basic knowledge of manual photography. Participants must provide their own manual mode camera, lenses (anything 24-70mm works) and tripod.

Key Elements of setting up an adventure shot - subject matter, people and bright clothing, timing, respecting your subject/situation

Wilderness - how to shoot off track but look after wilderness

Gear and how to look after it in wet/humid conditions

Focus

Lenses

Particpants must provide their own camera, transport, food.


Itinerary

Meet at 8.30am near the You Yangs depending on number/weather

Introduction to outdoor photography such as gear prep & guiding through the outdoor

Covering specific trail as selected by Liv to learn & practice the basics of outdoor photography such as composition, lighting, gear

Stop for brief lunch at 12.30pm (BYO) & a chance to ask Liv and the guides questions

Continue practising outdoor photography with Liv’s guidance and tips

Return at 2.30pm to the car park
