Event description

Description

Please join us in The Living Room for an informative evening with Karen Young discussing anxiety.

Anxiety in Children & Teens

Anxiety is a very normal part of being human, but for as many as one in five children and adolescents, it can reach intrusive levels, interfering with family life, friendships and school performance. This transformational session will provide parents and carers with the essential information and powerful, practical, research-driven strategies to help their children and teens thrive through anxiety, whether it’s everyday levels of anxiety or more intrusive.

About Karen Young

As a psychologist, Karen has worked extensively with children, teens and families. More recently, she founded the popular website, Hey Sigmund, after realising the power of solid information when it is placed in the hands of parents, children and teachers. The website attracts millions of readers each year worldwide.

Karen’s work has been published on various international sites including The Good Men Project, The Huffington Post, The Mighty, Yahoo Health, and Parenting Magazine. Karen can often be heard on Australian radio. She is a sought-after speaker, both at home in Australia and internationally.

In 2017, she published ‘Hey Warrior’, a book for children to help them understand and manage anxiety and find their ‘brave’. The book has been translated into four languages. More recently, Karen published her second book for children about anxiety, ‘Hey Awesome’.

Karen has two children and two stepchildren, and lives in Brisbane, Australia.
