Kapu Kai: Hawaiian Salt Water Cleansing Ceremony DENMARK

This is the second of three similar events in Western Australia offered in the intention of Health and Alignment of Spirit, Mind and Body at this end of the year.

I invite you, your family and friends to Simply Slow Down and Reconnect at Ocean Beach on Sunday, 23 DEC 2018 7:30AM for a salt water cleansing ceremony. (Details below)

OPTIONAL: Sunrise at 4:54AM and Full Moonset Ceremony at 5:14AM (Details below)

Shan has been given permission to conduct these ceremonies by Kumu Pa’a Lawrence Aki, the 50th generation of the lineage from the Halawa Valley on the Hawaiian island of Molokai, and the traditional custodians of the Country, the Noongar people of whom we respectfully and gratefully acknowledge.

DETAILS:

Optional Sunrise and Full Moonset Ceremony: If safe to do so, make your own way to the east end of Ocean Beach by 4:45AM on 23/11/18.

7:30AM: We will meet on the grass in front of the surf club at Ocean Beach [https://goo.gl/maps/npJrG3T4fwv] and there will be a brief explanation of the ceremony and protocol. NB: Look for the yellow banner.

8:00AM: We will walk down to the water’s edge and start.

* Opening Protocol - this may include Pule (prayer), Oli (chant), asking permission and acknowledging the traditional custodians of the Country, and introductions as a group.

* Kapu Kai Ceremony - sprinkling and/or bathing in salt water

* Closing Protocol

Around 9:00AM: Pūʻai ke aloha la - Food will be shared in love. Sharing of hot drink (provided, bring a cup) and food (whatever you offer in love).

WHAT TO BRING:

~ Bathers, wetsuit, towel, if immersing

~ Warm Clothing, Hat and Sunscreen

~ Cup and bowl, healthy snacks to share in love, as you are inspired (please avoid single-use plastics where possible)

~ Surfboard, musical instruments, etc if keen to play after
