Description

PLEASE NOTE: Tickets for an additional screening on Saturday Night (20th Jan @ 7PM) with Q+A has been added: 7PM start / 8:45PM Q+A
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please join us on Friday, January 19, 2018 for the New York premiere of KANGAROO: A Love-Hate Story!

You won't want to miss this exclusive event, featuring screening and Q&A at Village East Cinema followed by limited-ticket after party at nearby vegan eatery V Spot.

We're proud to welcome TV commentator and bestselling author Suzy Welch as our esteemed moderator for the New York City premiere post-screening Q&A.

(The screening is slated to start at 7PM, followed by a Q&A at 8:45PM with optional after party to follow beginning at 9PM. We recommend arriving at the theater by 6:30PM latest — to get checked in, snap pics, and secure a seat!)

Meet the filmmakers, mix and mingle with fellow film and/or animal fans, and enjoy tasty vegan eats and treats with cash bar and signature special discounted Kangaroo Cocktail. Take in an important, interesting, inspiring film; strut the step-and-repeat and snap photos (perfect for social sharing); and meet likeminded New Yorkers who share your empathy for animals and enthusiasm for cruelty-free, festive events.

After Party Details: V Spot, 12 St. Mark's Place: 9PM–11:30PM. Questions? Contact Nell at nell@nellalk.com.

NOTE: If you can't join us on for the premiere, KANGAROO will play in NYC for a week, with showtimes Friday January 19 – Thursday January 25. Info and tickets available here.

FILM SYNOPSIS
From the heart of Australia comes this comprehensive documentary that focuses on one of the world's most recognizable icons — the kangaroo.

This groundbreaking film reveals the truth surrounding Australia’s love-hate relationship with its beloved icon. The kangaroo ‘image’ is proudly used by top companies, sports teams and tourist souvenirs, yet as they hop across the vast continent, many consider them pests to be shot and sold for profit. KANGAROO unpacks a national paradigm where the relationship with kangaroos is examined.

FAQs

How can I help promote the film in advance/during/after the event?

Share, share, share! Social media is a great way to get the word out. Please use our hashtag #KangarooTheMovie and find us on Facebook and Twitter (and Instagram coming soon). We also recommend inviting friends via the Facebook event page.

What is the dress code?

Suggested dress code for the premiere and after party is Friday night festive, but casual cozy will work, especially given this weather! Just keep in mind there will be a red carpet. Dress accordingly!

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

The nearest subway stop to the Village East Cinema is the L train station at 3rd Avenue. Same goes for V Spot, which is a 5-minute walk from the theater.

What can I bring into the event?

Bring proof of ticket purchase (on your smartphone is fine). Also bring your social media a-game, as we'd love to see #KangarooTheMovie get some major action that night (and thereafter).

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?

Reach out to Nell Alk at nell@nellalk.com with any questions or concerns.

What's the refund policy?

We'll honor refund requests up to 7 days in advance of the event. If for any reason you need to cancel after that point, please sell or give your ticket(s) to a friend (forward them the email with the ticket(s)) and email nell@nellalk.com to let us know of this switch.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No. We recommend saving trees where you can and showing your ticket(s) on your smartphone. If you don't have a smartphone, by all means please print! But, honestly, your name and ID should suffice!
