Kaleidoscope's Job Readiness Workshop Series for Migrant Women will boost your employability skills and confidence in job seeking.

About this event

Kaleidoscope Job Readiness Workshop Series for migrant women is a workshop series designed to improve the employability skills of migrant women who have been affected by COVID-19.

Program outcomes:

By the end of this program you will:

  • become job ready
  • have boosted your confidence
  • have gained knowledge of job service providers and relevant tools that may assist you to find a job.

Eligibility for attendees:

To attend the series, you must:

  1. be a migrant woman
  2. have vocational English language to perform effectively in the workplace of your field (level 3 certificate or higher)
  3. commit to attend all five days of the workshop.

This workshop is designed for women who have limited or no work experience in either their home country or Australia. It is also suitable for women who are transitioning to a new job/career or reconnecting to their career after a break (less than 5 years).

Workshop Schedule (9 May 2022 - 13 May 2022) - 5 DAYS

8:45am to 9:00am: Sign-in to event and pick up name tag.

9:00am to 2:30pm: Workshop

9 May (Monday)

  • Developing your networking skills
  • Career strategy

10 May (Tuesday)

  • Resumes

11 May (Wednesday)

  • Cover letters
  • Interview skills

12 May (Thursday)

  • LinkedIn for job searching
  • Australian workplace culture

* You will need to bring your laptop/tablet or phone so that you can update your LinkedIn profile in the session. Please advise in your registration if this is not possible.

13 May(Friday)

  • Wellness and Family and work planning

Note: when you register, you are registering for all five days of the workshops. You must attend all sessions as per dates and times shown above.

Lunch: Please bring your own lunch. Morning tea will be provided.

The last date to register for these workshops is Thursday 5 May 2022.

Numbers are limited to 15 people. We will confirm if you are eligible for the program. If we receive too many applications then we will put you on waitlist and advise you if a spot becomes available.

Workshops are funded by Lotterywest and delivered in City of Canning, City of Swan and City of Stirling locations in partnership with Kaleidoscope Initiative.

Photography/Video Consent: Participants at Kaleidoscope Initiative and Kaleidoscope Mentoring Program events may be photographed or filmed during the course of the event. By attending a Kaleidoscope event, you agree to be photographed or filmed and give consent that these images may be used for media or promotional purposes. Photos may be shared by Kaleidoscope Initiative with community and employee partners for promotional purposes. Kaleidoscope Initiative will consider reasonable requests to not be photographed or filmed. Please advise the event organisers if you do not wish to be photographed.

Organiser of Kaleidoscope Job Readiness Workshop Series for Migrant Women

The City of Stirling's Kaleidoscope Initiative project aims to harness the economic benefits of its diverse population by helping newcomers to Australia secure employment in their field of expertise and support employers to benefit from this diverse workforce.  The Kaleidoscope Initiative project is funded by the WA State Government through the Office of Multicultural Interests and supported by the Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council.
