Kale Leaf is an Australian yoga teacher who has been practising for 30 years, teaching since 1986.
He founded the Fremantle Yoga Centre teaching training program 20 years ago and continues to be involved in the comprehensive two-year teacher training course.
Kale's journey in yoga began when, in search of a cure for a debilitating back problem and having tried all other treatments, he found yoga was the answer.
He specialises in therapeutic yoga and has developed a high level of expertise in his field. Kale saw the need for specialised classes for students who could not be adequately catered for in a regular class environment. As a result, he created individual programmes that were tailored to the students' specific needs and he has achieved very positive outcomes with this approach.
Over many years, he explored traditions such as Iyengar and Ashtanga and finally crafted his own "flow form" and therapeutic techniques. Literally thousands of people in Australia have been transformed and uplifted by Kale's contribution to yoga. His classes are a unique blend of lived spiritual depth, creative flowing yoga forms, a knowledge of how yoga heals and re-balancing of the body.
Living an ayurvedic lifestyle has enabled him to integrate the principles of ayurveda with his yoga knowledge, which adds an extra dimension to his teaching style.
