Junior Mountain Biking Session - age 8 to 12
Sun. 26 March 2017, 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm AEST
Hot off the heels of the Junior course for this age group held just before Xmas, we are holding another course, this time including a trail ride component also.
This session is for Juniors aged 8 - 12 (only) who enjoy mountain biking and want to develop their skills, try a (short) trail ride and have some fun!.
What does the course cover ?
We shall be touching on the basics of skills in the start of the session followed by taking it to the trails to put the skills of these lil tackers into action. The difficulty level of the trails will be very low and in line with the obstacle course we finished our previous session with. Who knows there may even be a Dab or two taking place. (those who attended the last course will know what this means :)
The course cost is $20 per participant and has a limited number of riders only so early registration is encouraged.
Who are the Coaches?
The Coaches for this course will be the "Two Marks" - Mark Routledge and Mark Watts, Both Coaches are MTBA Level 1 NCAS qualified and have delivered programs such as SheRides for Cycling Australia and the Junior Development Squad training for National Mtb rounds for MTBA.
Both Coaches hold blue cards, first aid qualifications and are experienced in junior coaching.
We invite you read the reviews on our Facebook page by our previous participants.
When is the session?
This session is on 26/3 at 1:00 - 2:30pm . If the session continues to be popular we will run more in the future.
Event numbers are limited so we encourage you to sign up early.
What age must particpants be?
This course is for 8-12 year olds (age at the time of the session).
** Note: We are also offering a seperate opportunity through MTBA for 12-18 year olds to join a Junior Development Squad for 6 sessions over 12 weeks. These are seperate sessions of a different format at a different time however, please contact us for more information on this 12-18 y.o course if of interest.
Where to meet on the day?
An email will be sent out with the exact meeting location in the days prior to the event however it will be on the Underwood Road side of Daisy Hill Forest.
What to bring to the event?
You will need a bike with working brakes, a helmet, and a thirst for fun! Feel free to wear your gloves, sunglasses or what ever else you like wearing when riding your bike. , Ensure the kids are wearing comfortable clothing, a drink bottle (which does not need to be bike mounted but ensure it is filled before you arrive) and a low sugar snack like a piece of fruit, muslie bar or sandwich to top up energy levels if required as 90 minutes of bike fun takes a bit of energy.
Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?
Message us through out Facebook site on:
or by email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No, we will have a list of all registered and paid participants on the day.

Sorry, no refunds or transfers are available for this event.
