Jung for Writers with Warren Ward

In this accessible, engaging and interactive seminar, psychiatrist and writer Warren Ward will provide writers with an introduction to the ideas of Carl Jung and their practical application to writing practice. Topics covered will include: the collective unconscious, synchronicity, alchemy, dream analysis, word association, myths and archetypes, projection, the psychology of romantic love, and Jung’s personality types (introvert, extrovert, sensing, judging, thinking, feeling). The seminar will also discuss the value of ‘inner work’ for the writer, including exploration of one’s masculine and feminine sides, and shadow or alter ego.

About Warren Ward

Warren Ward is a psychiatrist and writer with longstanding interests in philosophy, literature and European history. His writing has appeared in New Philosopher, and been shortlisted for the Hazel Rowley Literary Fellowship, the QWC/Hachette Manuscript Development Program, and the Hardcopy Professional Development Program. He has had more than 20 years’ experience as a psychotherapist and supervisor of psychotherapy trainees.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Unless otherwise stated, QWC workshops and events are suitable for participants aged 16 years and over. If you are under 18 years of age, please check with us for suitability before purchasing a ticket.

What can I bring into the event?

You can bring either pen and paper or a laptop along with you to write with. If you do bring a laptop, please remember to bring a power adaptor if necessary.

What's the refund policy?

If Queensland Writers Centre cancels an event, we will try to reschedule it for a later date. If we cannot reschedule the event, or if you are unable to attend on the amended date, your payment will be refunded in full.
