About this event

Please join us for an evening discussion between exhibiting artist Catherine Rogers and ANU academic Tim Bonyhady about their past collaborative projects focussing on clear-fell logging in Tasmania. Rogers has had a long involvement in the documentation of clear-fell logging in old-growth forests in Tasmania in the Styx and Upper Florentine Valleys and more recently the Tarkine, in North West Tasmania. Tim Bonyhady is a cultural historian and environmental lawyer whose books include The Colonial Earth, Good Living Street: The Fortunes of my Viennese Family and One Afternoon in the Kabul Stadium: A History of Afghanistan through Clothes, Carpets and the Camera. For three years, he wrote essays for Catherine Rogers’ Tasmanian Forest calendars which fundraised for The Wilderness Society.

Please remember to bring a mask to wear in the gallery.

Our Friends' Nights are kindly supported by Clonakilla Wines and 1980 Chinese Restaurant.
