Event description

Description

The early years are the most active period for brain development and establishing neurological pathways. These pathways are constructed by exposure and experience and strengthen by repeated use of language. One of the most instrumental elements affecting positive neurological brain growth is the developmental process of serve and return interactions between children and adults. Shared attention is required for effective serve and return engagement which leads to language development, and we know that language forms the foundation for later literacy development. This workshop will investigate current brain research and provide educators and parents with serve and return strategies to strengthen developing brain architecture leading to language and literacy competencies.
