Want a free lunch and improve your English Language Skills?

Chat Fest is a regular informal lunchtime session for International students with English as a second language enrolled in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences.

The session aims to assist students to:

  • practice their English language skills in a relaxed atmosphere,
  • become more familiar with the Australian culture of communication, learning and assessment
  • develop appropriate ways of communicating in the healthcare context, and
  • build confidence and competence in communicating with patients/clients and other health professionals.

The sessions are facilitated by academic staff and will run for ten weeks, over lunch time every Tuesday and Friday during Semester 2 2019. Students can drop by anytime during the session, enjoy some free lunch and practice their communication skills.

Session Information

Tuesday sessions are from 12pm to 2pm from 6 August to 22 October in:

  • John Medley Building, Room WG03

Friday sessions are from 12pm - 2pm from 9 August to 18 October in:

  • Alice Hoy Building, Room 330 from 9 August to 23 August and,
  • Old Physics Building, Room G16 (Jim Potter Room) from 30 August to 18 October
