Are you passionate about human rights? Do you want to defend individuals at risk?

Amnesty International is dedicated to keep people safe and free, and work towards a world where all people can enjoy their basic human rights. One way Amnesty International does this is through Individuals at Risk (I@R) program, which aims to protect and defend individual who are at risk of having their human rights violated. If you want to learn more about the I@R program check out:

Amnesty International is now looking to recruit people from all over Rockhampton to join the new Individuals at Risk Network Rockhampton. The Network will work specifically on cases from the I@R program, especially focusing on human rights defenders.

If you are passionate about social change and would like to be involved with one of the world’s largest human rights organisations, we want to hear from you! Amnesty International will host a FREE workshop weekend to launch the Individuals at Risk Network Rockhampton. The workshops will be on Saturday the 30 of September and Sunday the 1st of October. The workshops are aimed at providing you with the skills needed to successfully advocate for human rights in your community.

During the weekend a committee consistent of the following roles will be established:

  • 2 X Convener
  • 1 X Secretary
  • 2 X Campaign/ Event organiser
  • 1 X Recruitment manager
  • 2 X Marketing
  • General members
