Japanese washi paper and long metal chain necklaces

Join Brisbane-based jewellery designer Barbara Vine for a hands-on introduction to making your own necklace using washi paper covered shell medallion, set into a metal frame complete with long metal chain ready to wear. Barbara will show you how to apply and lacquer the paper on the shell base and how to assemble the frame. A kit will be provided as well as instructions, glue and lacquer to use during the class.
Please bring a notebook and pen, a small takeaway food container to transport your necklace home, and an apron as you will be working with sandpaper, glue and lacquer. Details of suppliers will be made available on the night for anyone wishing to continue making more themselves. Barbara's washi paper based jewellery in available in the Shop.
