Event Information
About this Event
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO REGISTERED WITH US TODAY. THE EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT.
OUR EVENTBRITE WAITLIST IS ALSO FULL.
PLEASE CONTACT GERRIC@UNSW.EDU.AU TO ENQUIRE ABOUT WAITLIST NUMBERS FOR YOUR DESIRED WORKSHOP
GERRIC offers a range of programs for gifted and talented students (generally, students who are capable of performing in the top 10% of their age-peers). GERRIC holiday programs will open your mind to abilities you may have not suspected you possess, and opportunities to use these abilities to the fullest. Students will meet others who share their interests, and they'll also meet inspiring teachers who love working with gifted students.
The January 2021 GERRIC Student Programs have been approved by a UNSW panel responsible for Risk Management. Our COVID Safety Plan will be supported by COVID Safe Marshals, ensuring that hygiene measures are followed, appropriate contact tracing data is collected and stored, and that physical distancing is maintained as per NSW Health guidelines.
We recognise that on this occasion, access to scholarships will be even more limited due to the smaller size of the program (January 2021 will be half the regular size due to COVID's impact on operations). We also recognise that our much shorter processing time means that some families may miss out, and we want to emphasize that we intend to return to our regular timelines in July 2021.
*Please note: current workshop capacities are based on the classrooms available on campus; these rooms now have strict limits on numbers in order to maintain physical distancing. If workshops sell out, we will do our best to find a larger classroom or lab. If we are able to secure a larger space, we can release more tickets.
WHAT WORKSHOPS ARE AVAILABLE?
Junior Scientia (Year 3/4, Year 5/6)
*Possibly one more workshop to be confirmed.
Scientia Challenge (Years 7-10)
*Possibly one more workshop to be confirmed. We recommend that you only register for one of the currently available workshops as a back-up if you are happy to remain in that workshop as transfers may not be possible.
Payment via Eventbrite is to be made by credit card only.
FAQs
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
We normally recommend using public transport to get to the student programs, but recognise that even in January 2021 you may prefer private car where possible. On-campus parking is available at a fee. UNSW's surrounding streets have some free street parking options, which we will happily share with you.
What's the refund policy?
In January 2021 we will be relaxing our usual refund policy to accommodate for the uncertainty caused by COVID in Australia. If at any time before or during the program you need to withdraw your child because of their health or the health of a family member, or if at any time you are instructed to self-isolate so testing can be conducted, you will receive a full refund (if withdrawing before Day 1) or partial refund (if withdrawing after Day 1).
How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

What if the workshop we want is full?
Ensure to refresh the page, in case a ticket becomes available. You can then select a Waitlist ticket, and we will contact you when and if a place becomes available. We recommend enrolling your child in an alternative workshop they are interested in.
