Event Details


Generously sponsored by Illumina, the 7th Annual JAMS Symposium, Student Poster Competition and Dinner will be held on Wednesday the 21st of March 2018 at the Australian Museum. After completion of the symposium, dinner will be held a short walk away at Harpoon Harry's.

Attention students

There is a $500 prize on offer to the winner of the student poster competition. The winner's name will also be added to the Jeff Powell Perpetual Student plaque.

Please Note:  Entry to the poster session is done at registration time (ticket purchase). Under the heading "Other Information", simply answer "yes" to "Presenting a Poster" and include your poster title.


Toast Workshop

Preceding the symposium and dinner, there will be a two-day workshop held at the University of Technology Sydney (19th – 20th March). This year the focus will be on long-read sequencing using the Nanopore MinION. Day one will be a true hands-on lab and day two focused on subsequent data analysis. Please Note: Registration for the TOAST Workshop is handled as a separate event.

For parking, the best choice is the Domain carpark. Opposite the Australian Museum, across William St.

From Central Station, its 1.6km and 500m from Museum Station.
