Description

The Asia Education Foundation (AEF) is currently taking expressions of interest from Australians teachers wishing to participate in a 3-day study program to Jakarta in September/October 2018. A limited number of scholarships is available for Australian teachers whose school has a BRIDGE partnership with a school in Indonesia, which includes a fully-funded place on the study program (valued at $750) and/or financial contribution towards a five-day visit to their Indonesian partner school either before or after the study program ($500 per teacher, up to 2 teachers per school).

One of the world’s greatest megalopolises, Jakarta is a fast-paced dynamic city that showcases the rapid change occurring in Indonesia. Indonesia's geographical proximity to Australia and the deeply entrenched economic and political relations are key factors in supporting what is one of Australia's most important regional relationships.

The AEF is offering a three-day professional study program to all Australian teachers and schools. Participants will be provided with the opportunity to immerse themselves within the energetic city as they are guided by in-country experts to key historical, cultural and political landmarks in Jakarta, including, but not limited to, the National Museum, Fatahillah Square, Monas, the Istiqlal Mosque and the Australian Embassy.

The program will run from Sunday 30 September to Tuesday 2 October, with arrival/check-in on Saturday 29 September and departure/check-out on Wednsday 3 October.

Please note that the Jakarta study program is open to all Australian schools and teachers. However, the scholarship including a fully-funded place on the study program and/or financial contribution towards a five-day school visit is exclusively for teachers whose school has a BRIDGE school partnership with an Indonesian school. The scholarship offers a great opportunity for those wishing to re-invigorate their BRIDGE School Partnership.

Program cost: AU$750

This is inclusive of:

  • airport transfers
  • 4-nights accommodation, twin-share
  • all meals
  • study program; including transport, entry fees and professional learning

This doesn't include:

  • travel to/from Jakarta (international return flights)
  • travel to/from Indonesian partner school location (applicable only to teachers in BRIDGE schools that have a partner school in Indonesia)
  • accommodation during the school visit, if homestay is not possible (applicable only to teachers in BRIDGE schools that have a partner school in Indonesia)
  • passport and travel insurance costs.

Expressions of interest close on Sunday 3 June.
