Event description

Description

Fresh from his October tour and a sold-out performance at the Sydney Opera House Studio, outsider extraordinaire Jack Colwell returns to Canberra for an intimate solo performance at Gorman Arts Centre in celebration of his new single “Seek The Wild.” Expect to hear fan favourites, brand-new material from his upcoming album and a surprise or two.

“Jack Colwell’s songwriting is as dramatic and sensuous as any orchestral piece” – Rolling Stone Australia

Jack was classically trained at Sydney’s Conservatorium of Music high school before building his reputation as an in-demand session musician and arranger, working with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Architecture in Helsinki. In April 2016, he visited Canberra as special guest on Sarah Blasko’s sold-out headline tour.

Joining Jack this evening is Canberra-raised, Sydney-based singer-songwriter Julia Johnson and local feminist garage blues act Oranges in special acoustic mode.
