THIS SESSION IS PRESENTED BY THE SOUTHERN SYDNEY CONNECTION AS PART OF THE NEW "PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SERIES".

Session overview

Wellness and reablement philosophy and practice is now a key foundation stone of support provision in the aged and disability sectors. The approach requires an understanding of the concepts of, and difference between, wellness and reablement; and recognition of how it influences many aspects of an organisation’s and program’s operations from policy to marketing to the practice of all levels of staff. Preparation of a Wellness and Reablement Action Plan can be a very useful guide to embedding the approach in the workplace.

This workshop covers the essential ingredients of a Wellness and Reablement Action Plan and how to develop one for an organisation or program. Participants will receive a handbook contains checklists, hints and tools for developing a plan and monitoring progress. This workshop is designed for senior staff, managers and coordinators.

What’s covered

•   Foundations of wellness and reablement

•   Getting the overarching policy framework right

•   Getting the practice right across staff teams

•   Getting the messages right across all touch points

•   Building reablement capacity

Who should participate?

This training is highly recommended for Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) Managers and Coordinators.

Bookings close 5pm on Thursday 5th October.

Please note not more than 2 staff can attend from any one organisation.
