It's double speaker event with two great talks where audience interaction is highly encouraged!

1st topic: Dr Ian Hoyle, Threat Management Technical Specialist at Microsoft will discuss "Microsoft threat protection across the kill chain"

Microsoft threat protection across the kill chain -- From email protection, to the protective measures built in to Windows 10, to the detection of identity based attacks across the network. Microsoft has a portfolio of capabilities that may now figure in the kit-bag used by enterprise security teams.

Dr Hoyle holds multiple scientific degrees from the University of New English and the University of New South Wales.

2nd topic: Dhananjaya 'DJ' Naronikar (CISSP, CISSP-ISSMP, CEH, PRINCE2), will discuss the key elements and implications of the GDPR.

Synopsis: The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Regulation EU 2016/679 must be implemented ahead of the implementation data of 25 May 2018. As with many directives, implementation does not happen overnight and is often more far reaching than Australian business may think. In fact, the Commonwealth Office of the Australian Information Commission issued specific guidance for Australian businesses in May 2017, if those business "have an establishment in the European Union (EU), if they offer goods and services in the EU, or if they monitor the behaviours of individuals in the EU." The steps to compliance must be carefully thought out. DJ will offer his view on the topic and where possible offer suggestions to our members as to how they can help.

Bio: Dhananjaya 'DJ' Naronikar is a business and information security leader with a proven track record of developing and implementing innovative security solutions for complex business challenges. During the last 20+ years of his career, a notable achievement has been his ability to be establish security and risk frameworks that assist Boards and Executives manage information & cybersecurity risks.

Sought after as a speaker and career mentor, DJ is currently engaged with ANZ Bank and serves as a Director (ISC)2 Melbourne Chapter. He has previously worked with CQR, Verizon, Deloitte, Accenture, etc. in various leadership capacities.
