Are you uncertain or uneasy about your future work options as these constantly shift with AI and technology? How can you approach your career decisions to maximise your opportunities in the workplace?
Kick start the second half of semester and your career planning by exploring these questions with a panel of specialists facilitated by ANU Careers. Our panel will stimulate thought and discussion and provide practical strategies to approach these changes with purpose and a sense of calm and confidence.
Panellists:
Professor Rob Mahony:
Rob is a node director of the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Robotic Vision (ACRV) at ANU and leads the Robotic Sciences Laboratory and is a fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). His research interests are in non-linear systems theory and optimisation with applications in robotics, geometric optimisation techniques and computer vision.
Dr Wendy Elford:
Wendy is an experience designer and practical futurist. With a PhD in Environmental Design and a focus on the future of work, Wendy collaborates with designers to create human centred ways of working within productive work systems. She helps young people anticipate opportunities and shape their careers as they study and enter the workforce.
Dr Tim Dunlop:
A writer, author and academic who teaches new media at the Centre for Advancing Journalism at the University of Melbourne, Australia. He has been involved in a number of new media start-ups, and writes and speaks on the future of work regularly. His latest book is the best-selling Why the Future Is Workless, which discusses technology and the future of work.
