Association of Iranica in Australasia Presents:

2016 Conference

Mirrors of Iran: Reflections in a Transnational Context

Keynote speaker: Hossein Valamanesh

The conference will explore how Iranian artists and researchers have explored identity, place making and creative practices within the context of the transnational experience.

The keynote speaker will be prominent artist Hossein Valamanesh, whose work is on display in the current exhibition Beyond Words: Calligraphic Traditions of Asia at the Art Gallery of NSW.

The conference will be a half day event starting at 12.30pm and concluding at 4.30pm. Other presenters will include Matt Cox, Curator of Asian Art Collection AGNSW, scholars from University of NSW and Australian National University, PHD candidates from the University of Sydney and the University of Newcastle and emerging visual artists and musicians.

Metered parking is available along Art Gallery Road or at the Domain Carpark behind the venue. The Gallery is also easily accessed via public transport.

Tickets: $20- General admission
