Description

The Independent and Peaceful Australia network invites you to a forum - 'War, Peace and Independence',

5.30pm for 6pm, Tuesday 4 July 2017, Reception Room, ACT Legislative Assembly, London Circuit, Civic.

Speakers are Prof Ramesh Thakur, ANU, and former Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations, Dr Alison Broinowski, former Australian diplomat and Vice President of Australians for War Powers Reform, and Dr Mike Gilligan, former defence capability analyst.

Topics to be covered include the UN nuclear weapons ban treaty currently being negotiated, the costs of the lack of independence in our foreign policy, whether Australia can defend itself and the ANZUS Alliance.
