Event description

Description

Kick-start your project management training with a challenging simulation.

Summary: In this 3-hour workshop, you will get the chance to learn some of the basics of project management. ECU project professionals will walk you through a fun simulation exercise where you will work with a small team to plan a BBQ in a refurbished garden. This is an information sharing exercise which examines the basics of project management as well as looking at leadership, team-working, and communication skills. Will you be able to finish the project on time? Will you be able to cope with a limited budget, and different demands of various stakeholders? Will the weather be kind, and can you make the correct decisions?

Who is this for: This workshop is suitable for you if you are new to working in a project team, or if you want some practical exercises in problem solving, communications, scheduling, and budget management. It is also suitable for you if you are considering studying project management at university, or if you are wondering what the value is in project management training. No prior knowledge of construction, engineering, or gardening is required to complete the workshop!

Date and Location: Saturday 9 November 2019 9:30am to 12:30pm, Building 2, CBD Room (JO.2.145), Edith Cowan University, Joondalup Campus.
