Description

Whether you're getting started in pressure management or you'd like a refresher to make sure your skills and knowledge are up to date, this hands-on workshop is for you.

This popular workshop will provide attendees with an overview of equipment and its role in preventing and managing pressure areas. You will look at the basics of pressure management assessment and the considerations to keep in mind when prescribing equipment, and you will get the opportunity to try equipment commonly used to assist pressure management, including cushions and mattresses.


Learning Outcomes
Upon completing this workshop you will:

- be able to identify the different types of pressure care cushions and mattresses

- be able to discuss the uses of foam, gel and air in relation to pressure management

- be able to explain the difference between pressure relieving and pressure reducing equipment


Target audience: Health professionals.
