Event description

Description

In this digitally oriented world, there’s nothing quite like receiving a beautifully handwritten piece of artwork. The timeless elegance of beautiful handwriting will always bring that special and personal touch to any occasion.

What is it? A pointed pen consists of a pointed 'nib' and a pen holder, the nib flexes and produces thin to thick lines based on the precise pressure applied to it. This special pen is used to produce scripts such as Copperplate, Spencerian and many forms of modern calligraphy.

During this 3-hour introductory workshop, I will be guiding you through the fundamentals of Pointed Pen calligraphy. Whether your intention is to learn a traditional script or modern calligraphy or just to learn a new skill for your upcoming projects, I will be teaching you the proper posture, positioning and movements that will help you get started in writing calligraphy. This hands-on workshop will be all about 'doing', which means a lot of writing and practising. I like to give plenty of one-on-one time to every student as everyone learns differently.
