Event description

Description

This 5 week Introduction to Judo course is open to anyone, including participants of any age or experience level and will run in 2 'Blocks'.

This course will give participants an appreciation of the techniques and skills of Judo, as well provide the chance to gain skills and improve their fitness! The classes will be practical rather than theoretical: attendees will learn how to break-fall, throwing and grappling techniques, and more. The beginners’ courses will cover many aspects of Judo but emphasis will be placed on gaining practical Judo skills rather than trying to cram a lot of techniques into a short course. Revision of techniques will occur in all classes to ensure you master the basics.

This short course runs for 5 weeks between the 7th of March and 4th of April, every Thursday from 8:00pm to 9:00pm for Block 1 and between the 2nd and 30th of May, every Thursday from 8:00pm to 9:00pm in Block 2.

There will be a free 'Come & Try' session held the week before (28/2/19 at 8:00pm) at the same location to give you more of an idea of what will be covered in the course. To attend, simply arrive and speak to the staff at reception!

Wear comfortable clothing for being physically active.
