Event description

Description

Would you love to FINALLY start keeping a journal? But you don’t know where to start?

Does this sound familiar?

  • the thought of the blank page sends your mind reeling
  • you're super busy and never seem to have the quiet time or place to journal
  • you can just never decide on the 'right' format, or style of journal writing for you
  • you're self conscious about your spelling and grammar or that voice that says 'you're not a writer'
  • you're scared that if you start writing you might never stop. Or worse - that you'll have nothing to say.

If those - or any other of the many reasons we don't journal - are getting in your way this workshop is for you.

Why not join us in this gentle and supportive workshop to go inwards and see what your wisest, kindest, most courageous self has to say about things. Sometimes the answer is within, we just need to tools to help us hear it.

You will write, with clear prompts and gentle encouragement. You will learn practical considerations about keeping a journal, tools to get your writing beyond the surface level, and ways to make your journal expressions more creative.

Journaling is a wonderful life skill to have and to develop. It can be used to express emotions, foster self acceptance, notice patterns, develop solutions, nurture gratitude and more. It is a great tool to use through times of transitions, grief, growth or healing.

Who:

Anyone aged 16 and over who is interested in learning the tools of journaling for well-being is welcome to attend. Your facilitators have over 30 years combined experience in personal journaling. They are experienced trainers and facilitators and have qualifications in counseling and coaching.

What:

In these workshops you will learn how to journal for personal growth and reflection. The methods we use in each workshop will combine to create a great toolkit for your wellbeing that you can use anywhere, anytime at no cost at all. With two facilitators this workshop offers moments of personal coaching and guidance as well as group discussion and sharing.

Why:

Journaling is a way to connect with ourselves and our own wisdom. It is an evidence-based tool for self-care, self-therapy and mindfulness.

Where:

Whites Creek Cottage, Annandale.

We will be in a beautiful cosy heritage venue surrounded by a lovely park.

When:

Sunday 19th May 2019, 10.00–4.30pm

Please feel free to arrive from 9.30 for a tea or coffee and registration, ready for a 10am sharp start.

How:

We will work in a group and have plenty of time for sharing tips and tricks as a group, as well as solo writing and reflection.

Ticket price includes hand outs, morning tea and some art materials. Please bring your own blank book for writing in.

Ticket options:

We have included reduced price tickets for early registration. We are also offering half price tickets for those who attended 'Spring into Journaling' in 2018 and want to revisit the content (you will always get more out of the same processes a second time around).

Please note: This is the same content as our 2018 introductory workshop called 'Spring into Journaling'. If you have already completed that workshop you may prefer to register for our intermediate level workshops that build on the techniques covered in this workshop. These are scheduled for July and September this year.

Gift Idea: Mother's Day is on Sunday 10th May this year, this event would make a lovely Mother's Day gift if your Mum likes personal growth, self reflection and gentle connection with others in a crearive environment.
