About the Facilitator - Emma Wright

Emma is an experienced corporate finance executive within the real estate sector. Having commenced her career at J.P. Morgan within their Real Estate Investment Banking team she subsequently joined Macquarie Group where she was based in Sydney, Hong Kong and London. Her most recent corporate role was Head of Product Development at Lend Lease Group.

Throughout her career, Emma has advised listed and unlisted Real Estate Investment Trusts and real estate companies in Australia, Asia and Europe across a variety of strategic options. These include acquisition and divestment strategies, the creation of listed and wholesale funds, equity raisings and debt financings strategies. Career transaction highlights include:

  • Establishment of Lend Lease International Towers Sydney Trust and its acquisition of the first two commercial towers developed at Barangaroo: A$2bn;

  • Establishment of the Macquarie China Retail Company, a fund created to invest in retail malls in the People’s Republic of China: US$1bn;

  • Merger of Goodman European Logistics Fund with Celogix Property Fund: €950m;

  • Establishment of MWREF Limited, a wholesale fund investing in retail malls in the People’s Republic of China: US$700m;

  • Acquisition of a portfolio of retail malls in the People’s Republic of China: US$345m;

  • Initial public offering for Macquarie MEAG Prime REIT in Singapore: S$570m;

  • Sale of James Fielding Group to Mirvac Group: A$478m;

  • Preferential offering and placement by Ascendas REIT in Singapore: S$278m;

  • Sale of Hamilton Island to 21st Century Resorts Holdings Pty Limited: A$195m; and

  • Sale of Delfin Limited to Lend Lease Corporation: A$172m.

Emma has a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) and Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Queensland.
