Event description

Description

Hydroponics is a way of growing plants without soil. In a hydroponic garden, plants are provided with a complete nutrient formula and a growing medium to anchor the roots. In this workshop, participants will learn the basics of how hydroponic systems work, the steps you need to do on a regular basis to ensure plants thrive, and which plants are best suited for growing in a hydroponic environment.

Participants will also learn how to make the best of a small space, be it a balcony, verandah, windowsill, hanging baskets or recycled containers on shelves, to produce your own supply of herbs and vegetables. You’ll find out what are the best types of plants to grow, how much sun is needed, and what type of soil and fertiliser to use to ensure a successful crop. Suitable for beginner gardeners.
