About this event
In this Introduction to e-textiles, learn to make your own light up wearable using fabric and electronics. This workshop explores circuit theory applied in creative ways to design and build your own responsive wearables using fabric of your choosing.
Over the course of the workshop you will:
- Learn basic circuit design principles and considerations in wearable electronics.
- Explore various conductive materials and integrating them into wearables for ideas, and
- Create your own wearable item.
About the facilitator:
Albert Ong is the founder of Tinkery, an edTech social startup aiming to make hands on learning accessible through creative prototyping kits and courses. Albert has worked on a range of industry and research projects ranging from art installations at Vivid Sydney, rehabilitative games and exoskeletons, and speculative and futures design projects.
Age: 16+
Experience: No experience needed, but there will be tasks in the workshop that use tools such as scissors and sewing needles. If you require support, please let us know.
Equipment and materials: All equipment will be provided for, and a small selection of materials will be offered. You can bring your own material for potential use.
Booking terms and conditions
- No refunds for cancellations or missed bookings.
- Program swapping is not permitted.
- If you arrive more than 10 minutes after the advertised start time and there are people waiting in the standby queue, your ticket may be allocated to the standby queue, and no refund will be issued.
- If you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration at least 3 hours prior to the event. As Library Programs have limited spaces and repeated failure to notify staff of cancellations, bookings may be refused in the future.
