Description

As a contract administrator the role crosses several professional boundaries, this course will prepare you for the expectation and identify the key challenges which need to be addressed and provide some insights into why they exist.

This full day Introduction to Contract Administration course looks at the obligations that exist under various types of contracts. It covers dispute resolution and the mpact of protracted disputes on the project.

It will also look at the contractual obligations under the respective construction contracts, identifying challenges and resolving where possible “within the four corners of the contract” and the wider economic and legal impacts of protracted disputes.

A great refresher course, or as an introduction to contract administration, the course is suited to all construction professionals, especially:

  • Contractors and sub-contractors
  • Principals
  • Project engineers and managers
  • Quantity surveyors
  • Superintendents

This course is delievered by Stuart Bailey MRICS. With over eighteen years’ experience in the construction industry supporting the delivery of various projects; Stuart's experience includes contract administration from his early career to that of client agent and Engineer to contract. His current experience includes providing support and advice to various private and government clients in the planning and delivery of procurement services which involves primarily the development of the procurement plan.

He also provides training both internally and externally on various forms of contract as well as the Construction Contracts Act 2002.

His work also includes claims advice to both clients and contractors to ensure arguments are clearly articulated to progress claims to their correct outcome preserving relationships and avoiding potential disputes.
