Description

ONE-DAY training for people with a lived experience who are already working as, or are considering becoming a Consumer Representative.

Acquire the skills and knowledge in recovery rights, advocacy, representative rolls and committee skills.

Core modules include:

  • How the consumer voice has shaped mental health system change;

  • Settings a Consumer Representative may find themselves in;

  • Roles in committees and activities Consumer Representatives can undertake;

  • Types of committees on which Consumer Representatives serve;

  • An understanding of the responsibilities of Consumer Representatives, including national standards and equal opportunity.

This workshop is facilitated by lived experience peers.
