FAQs

Q. Do I need to have any prior experience with Alexander Technique (AT) to come to a introductory BodyMinded class?

A. No! Simple and straight forward.

Q. Should I bring along anything?

A. You do not need to bring anything.

Q. Will the class teach me practical & actionable things – or is it a sales talk to get me to sign up for more? (thank you for asking, this is a great question!)

A. The introductory classes are a practical introduction to the BodyMinded apporach & the Alexander Technique principles, you will get some good new information to take home with you.

Yes, we will also tell you about the opportunities to learn with us,

Q. What happens in the introductory classes?

A. Most of the time is practical demonstrations, activities and learning. Greg usually asked “what would you like to work on?”…this is central to his approach to teaching.

Perhaps have a think on what type of activity you would like to explore. Here are some examples ‘I want to walk up stairs without my knees hurting?’, ‘I’d like to be more comfortable driving’ ‘my lower back hurts when I do a long teaching day’, ‘I get a lot of tension in my jaw when I play my flute’, ‘I want to have less shoulder pain when I play golf’. These are real questiosn that people bring to BodyMinded classes.

Creating positive co-ordination change and forming new healthy habits – well in all honesty you need more than a 1.5 hour introductory class to achieve sustainable change! Coming to an introductory class is a great way to get started.

Q. I have ‘insert conditions’ (RSI, tendonitis, lower back pain, performance anxiety, headaches, knee pain etc) will the BodyMinded approach help me?

A. We have helped many many people. Greg Holdaway’s success rate with chronic conditions is fabulous! The main element for success is your active participation in the learning process. You need to practice the BodyMinded ideas! It is your engagement with the process that helps you plot a positive way forward with your specific condition.
