Introduction to Biosafety

This session will give an overview of Biosafety expectations at Deakin. It will cover approvals you’ll need if you wish to work with regulated biological materials, genetically modified organisms and imported materials, as well as raise awareness about the safe handling of biological materials and working safely within labs while you do your research. The session facilitator is Claire Hirst, Specialist – Biosafety and Biosecurity.

Researchers new to Deakin and graduate researchers will find this session helpful but it may also be a worthwhile refresher for experienced researchers who haven’t submitted an application in a while.
