Event description

Description

Bees play an integral role in today’s society. Not only do they produce the honey we eat, but together they pollinate more than one third of the global food supply.

Beekeeping is an increasingly popular hobby and many people have already found out how enjoyable and rewarding it is to keep honey bees.

In this workshop, participants will learn the basics of beekeeping - how to obtain bees, where to locate them in the garden, and the basics of colony management, extracting honey, native bees and rearing queens.

*This is an introductory course only so there will be no practical activities with live bees.

These sustainable workshops are funded by Campbelltown City Council with the goal of increasing environmental stewardship within the Campbelltown community
