This 1 day course aims to provide attendees with a sound introduction to the identification, assessment and management of Acid Sulfate Soils (ASS). It is designed for professionals who regularly deal with acid sulfate soils, such as engineers, contractors, consultants, scientists and environmental officers. It provides an update on the latest changes to legislation, policies and guidelines. A separate course is available for government assessment officers and planners, however this course would still be relevant to government staff.

Jon is a Senior Soil Scientist with extensive experience in land resource assessment and planning activities within government and the private sector. He has a proven track record of undertaking high quality field assessments and providing accurate, timely technical advice to a range of clients.
Jon's has over 15 years experience in the identification, assessment and management of ASS. For much of this time, Jon was a land resource officer with the Qld Government, conducting ASS mapping, providing development assessment and planning advice to local and state agencies, providing training to a range of audiences, and input to development of policy and guidelines. Since joining O2, Jon has undertaken ASS investigations, prepared management plans and provided training to Moreton Bay Regional Council Staff. Jon is a Certified Professional in Soil Science (CPSS), Stage 2.
