Dr. Nicholas Bardell
Head of Engineering & Technical Specialist
This lecture will provide a brief overview of QuEST Global Engineering, describe its primary organisational structure, and chart its meteoric growth since it was founded by two entrepreneurs only 16 years ago. Particular attention will be given to the local Australian Office, describing its previous involvement with projects such as JSF, A400M and Australian DoD, and its current design and stress contribution to projects such as A380 rib retro-fit and replacement, In-Service Repairs, Boeing 787 Flaps, and Airbus A350-900 composite rear spar analysis.
Dr. Nicholas Bardell is currently Head of Engineering and a Technical Specialist at QuEST Global Engineering based in South Melbourne, Victoria, where he has worked for the past 11 years on a variety of civil and military aircraft projects. Prior to this, he worked in the UK as a stress analyst for BAe, Rolls-Royce, Aerostructures Hamble, and as a Lecturer in Aircraft Structures in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at the University of Southampton. His professional affiliations include RPEQ, MRAeS and CEng. He has published over 45 papers on various aspects of structural analysis and modelling. He is married with two children and lives in Melbourne, Australia. He enjoys reading, outdoor pursuits, and building 1:72 scale replica aircraft from the early jet age.
