Event description

Description

Speaker: Dr Lynn Fink and Dr Anthony Beckhouse

Affiliation: BGI Australia

Abstract: BGI Australia launched its laboratory this May, bringing BGI’s proprietary genome-sequencers BGISEQ-500 and BGISEQ-50 into Australia, the first of its kind to operate in the southern hemisphere. Powered by improved DNA Nano Ball (DNB) and patterned array technologies, the BGISEQ is changing the way genomics research is done in this country and around the world, providing end-to-end solutions with accuracy and flexibility, driving research dollars further and accelerating outcomes. This talk will showcase the BGISEQ’s technical capabilities, present case studies of collaborations with Australian scientists using these new sequencers, and describe new collaborative opportunities for JCU researchers.
